Martin Village Day will be held on Saturday 30th August on the Martin Playing Field
Old News
George Newman is 90 years old!! George who was born and raised in Pentridge was ninety on Saturday 10th March!
When George was born, the First World War still had more than eighteen months to go, the television had not been invented, the road through Martin was dirt, flint and chalk and the village pond still existed adjacent to the East Martin turning. If you would like to know more of the history of Martin in the 20th Century, George has recorded some of his memories and these are held at the Wessex Film & Sound Archive at Winchester; find them on the Web at http://www.hants.gov.uk/record-office/film/index.html
